Several positions are available in our Centers!

The Biodesign Swette Center for Environmental Biotechnology and spin-off Center for Health through Microbiomes are hiring for several positions. Please share this information.

  1. SP2319 HTM Postdoc

Arizona State University’s Biodesign Center for Health through Microbiomes, led by Dr. Rosa Krajmalnik-Brown (https://biodesign.asu.edu/Research/Centers/Health-Through-Microbiomes and http://rosylab.org/) invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in the area of microbial ecology with a special focus on host-microbe interactions. The Postdoctoral Research Scholar will be working in a uniquely collaborative and productive lab. Dr. Krajmalnik-Brown’s lab is leading research on Microbiome and Autism, and Microbiome and Energy extraction and Microbial Ecology for environmental biotechnology applications. The Postdoc will be taking a leadership role in a Gut Microbiome funded project (microbiome-autism), will assist an NIH-funded team, will be exposed to many research topics associated with environmental biotechnology, and will have the opportunity to start new projects. Priority will be given to candidates with experience working with biostatistics, functional microbial ecology analysis targeting microbial genomes, microbial pathways, microbially-produced metabolites and/or bioreactor operation as demonstrated through publications and references.

2. SP2298 Sun Genomics Postdoc – HTM

Arizona State University’s Biodesign Center for Health Through Microbiomes, led by Dr. Rosa Krajmalnik-Brown, and collaborating with Dr. Jim Adams and Sun Genomics (a leading microbiome health company) invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in the area of microbial ecology with a special focus on host-microbe interactions driven by customized probiotics. The Postdoctoral Research Scholar will be working in a uniquely collaborative and productive lab.

Dr. Krajmalnik-Brown’s lab in collaboration with Dr. Jim Adams are leading experts in research on Microbiome and Autism. The Postdoc will be taking a leadership role in a Gut Microbiome funded project (probiotics, microbiome-autism) funded by Sun-Genomics, will be exposed to many research topics associated with Microbiome and Autism, and will have the opportunity to start and lead this new exciting project.

3. SP2038 Instrument Technician – BSCEB & HTM

Under direction of the Laboratory Manager, the Research Instrument Technician will maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and service instruments in the Biodesign Swette Center for Environmental Biotechnology and the Biodesign Center for Health Through Microbiomes laboratory spaces. Specific functions include training laboratory members in proper use of instruments, scheduling instrument use, troubleshooting problems, doing preventative maintenance, managing instrument-related waste and instrument-use safety, and being responsible for good operation of instruments in the laboratory.

This will be an excellent opportunity for a person who loves to tinker with electronics and hydraulics to prepare for a career as a technical service representative or to grow within the university setting, which provides educational benefits for the employee and family members.
