Here’s to the most dedicated visiting scholar I’ve ever encountered! Melanie Hekeu has her last day today, and I’ve been incredibly lucky to have worked with someone who demonstrated so much sincere scientific curiosity and obvious joy in the process of research — even when her mentor was “burning the midnight oil”.
Melanie: although you are going to Europe, you are still part of our center and this work. I can’t wait to see your name in print alongside my own, and our principal investigator Bruce Rittmann. Come back as soon as you can!
