Hello everyone!
I have good news to share.
In February, I received the Biodesign Travel Grant for a total of $500!
This grant will be used towards my expenses for Battelle’s Twelfth International Conference on Remediation of Chlorinated and Recalcitrant Compounds in Portland, Oregon from May 31st– June 4th, 2020. I will be presenting on my work featuring sulfate-reducing bioreactors for the treatment of acid mine drainage.
HERE is a link for anyone who is traveling and would like to apply for the next round of awards due May 15, 2020.
Evelyn Miranda is a third-year graduate student in the Biological Design Program and the School for Engineering of Matter, Transport, and Energy in the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering. She studies the removal/precipitation of metals through the use of sulfate-reducing bacteria in bioreactors.
